hello you, would you like to hear about my weekend? weekends essentially start on fridays and last friday was the ultimate exercising day. it began with morning pe, where we were surprised with the option of taking our napfa 2.4 run. being the diligent enthusiastic athletes we are, we decided to take up the challenge. and i seriously almost died. i am not kidding. that is how unfit i am. i was reciting philippians 4:13 in my head and trying to think of anything that would take my mind off running and thankfully i managed to muster up enough willpower and strength to complete the run. didnt manage to run sub-12 but no more 2.4 forever yay(:
class bonding over captains ball haha and then ihc fencing with gerry and jenna. quite fun. gerry and i were rather pro (for noobs) and we were ranked 1st and 2nd respectively after the pool stage. but then we both lost our semis so we ended up 3rd/4th): but our boys were quite lousy so i dont know how MT fared overall. some of the mask and glove thingys were sweaty and smelly but the outfit is pretty cool cos it makes you look like an astronaut haha. we made a pact that if we got into law and med that we'd join fencing in uni except that we would lose to all the pro fencers there):

then came saturday, which was probably my busiest time helping out at nuh emd. most of the staff there arent chinese to i help them translate between english and chinese/canto. haha, yes, i am effectively trilingual as i have discovered, save for the fact that i had no clue what pang guan meant. but helping that doctor translate as he tried to logically figure out the cause of the patient's pain was so fascinating it was like mathematical induction and chemistry's elucidation put together(: plus, he said i did a fantastic job and that i was very helpful. score! wo xi huan jiang hua yu. kind of reminds me of how jasmine says that i am hopeless at reciting her hokkien phrases cos i sound like i'm singing a song instead): haha
my sisters friend came to pick us up in his snazzy red sports car and we caught thank you for smoking at his swanky (but terribly messy) bachelor pad. made me wonder which one of my friends will be leading that sort of lifestyle in the future(: interestingly clever movie. definitely worth watching. besides, adam brody has a minor role in it.
birthday festivities started today((: got to hang out and catch up with chris and ade, plus got my first birthday present too. birthday dinner with the family and yummy oxtail stew, recounting the days of my youth when i hated my pink panther agar agar birthday cake, refused to wear dresses with the can-can/tutu inner layer (it was unbearably itchy) and wore ubercool rolls royce shoes. now i'm turning 18 and a whole lot more mature (hehe)
